Fairfax County has the 12th largest school system in the nation and one of the most ethnically diverse. The school budget for 2008-09 is $2.2 billion -- average cost per student is a little over $13,000. 91% of FCPS students go on to college or other post-secondary school.
Sully District includes 4 school pyramids:
Centreville,
Chantilly,
Oakton, and
Robinson. There are 5 High Schools fed by Sully District schools or within Sully District: Mountain View, Westfields, Centreville, Chantilly, Oakton and Robinson.

The public school system also provides Adult Continuing Education
that ranges from the fun and frivolous (ballroom dancing anyone?) to the practical (home improvement skills) to developing or maintaining career skills.

The School Board establishes guidelines that will ensure the proper administration of the county school program within the framework for education established by the Virginia legislature.
Fairfax County residents who want to present their views to the School Board may submit them in writing to School Board Members, 8115 Gatehouse Rd., Suite 5400, Falls Church, VA 22042 or by e-mail. Contact information for individual members is below.
The Board meets at 7 p.m. twice monthly in the Board Room at Jackson Middle School, 3020 Gallows Rd., Falls Church. Special meetings are scheduled as required. Time is reserved at each regular business meeting for public testimony on matters that are on the agenda and have not yet been acted upon. Meeting agendas and minutes are available online. The speakers list for regular meetings is limited to ten people, each being allowed three minutes. To reserve a space, sign up online starting at 6 a.m. on the Monday preceding the board meeting or by calling the School Board Office at 571-423-1075. The School Board will not hear statements involving cases under litigation, issues that have been scheduled for a public hearing, or complaints regarding individual employees or students.
