The Centreville Sears Catalog House In 1934 the Spindle family built a house they ordered from a Sears catalog that arrived in boxes on a train in Herndon. Mrs Spindle lived in the house until the 1980s, when she finally sold it. Empty, it awaited demolition to make room for a new development that never happened. Over the years, the Spindles made hardly any changes and this Brentwood model was recognized as significant for being in its near-original state. Today it is being fully restored by the Park Authority. Learn more ... Read an article written for Centreville Day 2004. Click here for a recent Park Resources article.
