Community leaders, in every region of the world, are taking the initiative to transform their communities into a Digital Communities.  The term Community has returned to it's original definition of where real people live, work and play.  Gone is the idea of Internet Communities based on anonymity, screen names and chat rooms. 

Community development on the Internet has evolved to dealing with the practical and important issues. Integrated Community Networks are being developed for two major reasons:

1. Communications - To increase and improve communications between and among every sector of the community (business, government, education, and civic organizations).
2. Economic Development - To stop the "leakage" of business revenues from the community and to increase "flow" of business revenues from markets outside the physical boundries to businesses inside the community.
